Accompanying Discussion: Talk about the different things that can contribute to one’s success: family support, practice, perseverance, etc. Ask students to name on of their successes at school or home and ask them to name something or someone that contributed to that success.

Accompanying Activities:  Ask students to pick one thing that they think most contributed to Michael’s success, and draw a picture of it. Ask them to draw a picture of one of their successes and include or write the top factors that helped them get there. Compare and contrast with Long Shot.
