Author: Drew Daywalt

Pages: 32

Summary(from publisher): When Duncan arrives at school one morning, he finds a stack of letters, one from each of his crayons, complaining about how he uses them.

Accompanying Discussion: Discuss point-of-view. Have students give examples of different points of view. Discuss empathy – trying to understand how others are feeling, and ask them to give an example of time they have been or could have been more empathetic.

Accompanying Activities: Give out the same color crayons to all students and ask them to draw items connected to that color. Repeat with different colors. Have students write their own letters in crayon, as shown in this example.
